We've got high Standards
We love spreadsheets as much as we love moodboards. We think of back-up plans for back-up plans. We always have a phone charger on us. Basically, we've got you covered.
Through all of life’s experiences, one thing has always been our priority - family and friends. We cherish them. We've found that the majority of our joy not only comes from within, but also from the people we surround ourselves with. This is why we created The Joy Standard. Events and parties are the perfect place to bring happiness into people’s lives and to share that JOY with the ones they love.
We are two sisters who grew up in a busy household with five kids, two hard working parents; and lots of pets. Our upbringing taught us many skills that we use as professional planners today…how to collaborate, share, work hard, roll up our sleeves, and step up to help others.

5 Things That Bring Me Joy:
My lifelong passion for design and fashion has shaped my career. Oh, and I'm kind of obsessed with process docs too.
My focus on fashion and design started at Cornell University where I studied fashion design and merchandising. From there, I went to work at Ralph Lauren's corporate office in NYC where I learned the importance of a collective vision and all of the moving parts that make it happen. After Ralph Lauren, I moved to Philadelphia to work at Anthropologie's headquarters. There I honed my creative skills and gained more experience planning and managing campaigns. In both companies, I was able to balance my creative inclinations with my practical, planner-driven brain.
I’ve learned from my career in fashion that design and aesthetic can lift the collective mood of a group, whether we are aware of it or not. I love the idea that beautiful things bring joy to people’s lives. After planning my own destination wedding in Nantucket, MA, I fell in love with the event planning process and co-founded The Joy Standard with my sister Jen.
Meet Jen
I'm known as the jack-of-all-trades to many and the go-to person for solving problems. And after raising two boys...nothing fazes me.
I began my career in advertising, directing national accounts. It was during those years I developed a talent for managing brand identities and seamlessly launching multi-media campaigns that always came in on-time and on-budget. My creativity, attention to detail, and hyper-focused project management were critical to my success in this fast paced industry. After my second child, I decided to take some time off from the corporate world and that led me to event planning. I learned to stay on top of all the event trade and design trends when I became a brand consultant, worked part time at an interior design firm, and started volunteering by planning events in my community.
Family, friends and community have always been the cornerstone of my life. Planning events and parties for them has been a huge source of joy for me. Owning my own creative business has always been a dream of mine, and it finally came true when I partnered with my sister Cait to found The Joy Standard.

5 Things That Bring Me Joy:
I'm committed to the highest standards of customer service. And I'm known for pulling off large events in small amounts of time.
I grew up in what felt like a thousand different places and spaces, constantly embarking on new journeys with my family until my 40’s. During all of my travels, I learned so much about different cultures and styles, which influences how I design and create events today. I've had so many life experiences that developed my vast professional skillset, but my background in project management and experience with large scale technology projects for Fortune 500 Clients, has definitely been the biggest contributor to my success in the event planning world. I've been called the "Queen of Process" by my Clients and Associates, and I know it's because of my commitment to getting things done the right way, on time and on budget.
After planning and designing my own Manhattan wedding in 2009, I knew I found the perfect fit for a new career. Since then, I've planned and implemented countless events of all shapes and sizes to the delight of my Clients. I joined The Joy Standard as a Senior Planner in 2021 and have been using my experience, eye for design, and commitment to the highest standards of service, to create and flawlessly execute events of all sizes.
Since my travel experience is extensive, and my connections are vast, I lead all destination weddings and events for The Joy Standard.
